  • Thats alot of cannolli!

    SOLD for $2,410,000!

Lot 278 in our "Icons and Idols: Rock N Roll" auction - John Lennon's Gibson J-160E acoustic guitar!

“There is no doubt that this guitar was Lennon’s most important guitar in the early days of The Beatles… I can tell you, there has never been another guitar like this offered up for auction.”  - Andy Babiuk

We may never know exactly how John Lennon was separated from his Gibson acoustic guitar. We do know that it was purchased by Tommy Pressley in the summer of 1967 from a music store in San Diego. Pressley, who purchased the guitar with no idea that it once belonged to John Lennon, later sold the guitar to his friend John McCaw.

McCaw owned this guitar for many years before becoming curious about its age. In 2008, he began a simple search for the year his guitar was made that lead to a long and winding road of coincidences , hunches and lucky breaks.

    McCaw’s…

  • Original signature from book ......

This was signed at seatak airport on April 2nd 1994. Kurt was asked to date this and he signed the 5th instead of the 2nd at 2 am. This one compares well to the red signature, We can tell it's not a copy of one another since specific differences between two. This is the same signature that has been digitized in black in my previous post, but I thought I'd share the original so we can see patterns of similarity. This disproves the theory that Kurt never signed any thing with middle initial for a fan or a record executive etc. In the years to come we will see more authentic examples show up. Strange thing to add, when I bought this, it arrived on April 2nd 2014. Just a weird coincidence I guess........

  • Todd Mueller is a great, very honest guy.  I had a historic document that had been in my family for more than 75 years that I wanted to sell.  Contacted eight alleged buying sources, with attached copy of item..  Five offered huge prices that the "thought" they could get at auction, but would not commit to buy at any price.  One low-balled and Todd and another offered a sort of reasonable purchase price.

After talking to both, it became very apparent that Todd was a straight shooter who offered a competitive price and indicated he might offer more when he had the document in hand. When he got it, he upped his offer by 25%, so we had a deal.

    Hard to find someone as…

  • Three Dog Night Mourns the Loss of Cory Wells

For Immediate Release:  Cory Wells age 74

Los Angeles, CA (October 21, 2015) “It is with deep sadness and disbelief that I must report the passing of Cory Wells, my beloved band mate for over 45 years,” announced Danny Hutton of Three Dog Night. “Cory was an incredible singer – a great performer, he could sing anything.”

Wells, one of the three lead singers of iconic American pop band Three Dog Night, died unexpectedly yesterday in Dunkirk, NY. Wells had been with Three Dog Night from the beginning and continued performing with the band up until September of this year when he developed a problem with severe back pain.

“Cory was like a brother in so many ways,“ said Hutton. “We had been together since 1965 and…

  • Ringo Starr disses on Bogus Guitars

In a November 2015 interview of the now 75 year old former beatle;    What is interesting is the signature statements and how many of these bogus guitars are floating around!

What I Know Now: Ringo Starr

    Brotherly loss

John [Lennon]'s death in 1980 was very hard. Barbara's kids called us in the Bahamas and told us he'd been shot. He was my brother, so we rented a plane and flew to New York. In 2001, I went to…

  • Its been 10 months since Roger Epperson gave a FREE authentcitiy review; I bet he wished he did not. What are the chances that the first one out of the gate was a complete disaster?? He keeps proving himself over and over again... as a nonexpert.

A fool paid Roger $15 for his opinion on this Mccartney autograph.  Roger wrote back says that it was NOT AUTNENTiIC!…

  • Boxing Authentication - WBC Authentication

Rec'd this update the other day but was on vacation. Good for Travis. In this role, however, he will need to call the shots
regardless of who has the boxing item to certify! He did an excellent job here on outting tens of thousands of dollars of
forgeries on EBay and didn't focus just on PSA/DNA or JSA (or as Travis likes to refer to them as abc or xyz) that included
Florida Forgeries & the likes of GSA & others. (p.s. I have the full threads that were removed when Travis felt it was time to get away from this site). Nonetheless, he made a believer out of me in his knowledge and I would be the first, until proven
otherwise, to promote you stop there before shelling out hard earned money. Will a mistake be made? No doubt but I can
say he saved buyers on EBAY well over $100k in fraudulent items (at least at that time).

We are proud today to announce the grand opening of an original autograph authentication service dedicated…
